I really appreciate all of your support and concern for Earney. Somehow it’s comforting to know all of these great photographers, writers, designers, parents, students, parents-to-be, karaoke-singers, shoe-hoarders, bike-riders, knitters, gardeners, cookie-baking, sausage-making, race-running, world-traveling, cat-loving, interesting people around the world also care about my little kitties. Your kind words bring tears to my eyes… good tears on top of the other ones. And just so you know, we care about all of you, too.
As you can see (above), Oliver is helping me take good care of Earney. Hopefully they’ll both be snuggling for awhile yet to come.
Thanks again. And big Earney-style hugs all around, to you and your cats, too.
You guys, I have to tell you something that’s really, really hard for me to even write. Earney’s sick, and he’s not going to get better. Blood work, ultrasound, and biopsy results all confirm Earney has pancreatic and liver cancer. He seems to be feeling pretty okay for now, and I’m doing everything I can to keep him happy and comfortable. But I’m scared. And my heart is breaking at the thought of Oliver losing his best friend, too.
Earney was eight years old when his baby brother Oliver arrived. And for the last six years, Oliver has rarely left Earney’s side.
